Yangon, July 5 Police force members from across Myanmar are being selected on a rotational basis, given special combat training, and then formed into police commando units and continuously dispatched to front lines, a military source in Naypyidaw told Yangon Khit Thit Media. Police force members under the Ministry of Home Affairs are continuously selected on a rotational basis and given special combat training for two to three months. After completing the training, they are formed into police commando front line units and assigned to operational areas. "Police from across Myanmar are selected on a rotational basis and given special combat training for two to three months. After training, they are formed into police commando front line units and dispatched to front line battlefields," the military source in Naypyidaw said. Currently, these police commando units are primarily dispatched to front lines in Sagaing Region, Magway Region, Chin State, Karen State, and Bago Region. "They are mainly sent to the front lines in Sagaing, Magway, Chin, Karen, and Bago. Traffic police, station police, and police from various departments are selected and dispatched," the source said. Furthermore, on July 3, police commandos who had completed special combat training from police regiments in Yangon were dispatched with approximately 10 military vehicles to reinforce Myawaddy town in Karen State. Among the police commando units dispatched to Myawaddy town were traffic police members from the Bilu Island region in Mawlamyine District, Mon State. They were recalled from their original duties, given special combat training at a police regiment, and then dispatched to the front lines. "On July 3, police personnel who completed special combat training at a police regiment in Yangon were dispatched with about 9 to 10 vehicles to reinforce Myawaddy. Among them were traffic police from Mawlamyine's Bilu Island region who were recalled to the police regiment, given special combat training, and then dispatched," the military source in Naypyidaw said. Station police and traffic police who do not want to go to the front lines are reportedly offering money and bribes to senior officials to avoid being included in the police commando units.
