MANILA, Philippines — The level of air quality in some cities in Metro Manila remained under “acutely unhealthy” on Tuesday afternoon, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) said. In an advisory, the DENR-EMB – National Capital Region (NCR) said the air quality was “acutely unhealthy” due to the lingering haze associated with the fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia. The air pollution level could pose significant health risks, especially to individuals with pre-existing health conditions, the elderly, and children.
