Indonesia Mandates Domestic Retention of Export Earnings to Stabilize Rupiah

Indonesia will implement a new policy from June 1, 2026, mandating the 100% retention of foreign exchange earnings from natural resource exports (DHE SDA) within domestic state-owned banks, with a maximum conversion limit of 50% to the Rupiah. This aims to stabilize the domestic foreign exchange market and stimulate economic ripple effects.
