Vietnam Attends Mekong-Lancang Forum on Combating Fake News in Cambodia

Vietnam attended the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation (MLC) forum held in Cambodia, discussing strengthened regional cooperation in combating fake news. The forum aims to enhance information quality in the digital era, focusing on three main strategies: combating the spread of fake news, promoting verified news by professional media organizations and digital content creators, and strengthening media literacy education for the public in Cambodia and neighboring Mekong countries. Vietnamese representatives emphasized the importance of the ability to receive, filter, and compare information with credible sources. Unverified information should be handled cautiously before impulsive sharing. Regarding future cooperation directions, the Vietnamese side proposed innovating and diversifying forms of cooperation, strengthening connections between local-level chapters, especially in border provinces, and expanding exchanges among young women, female intellectuals, and businesswomen. Through the MLC framework, Vietnam aims to share experiences and best practices in combating fake news and maintain the health of the information space across the region.
