Prabowo Instructs Local Leaders Not to Mobilize Citizens for Welcomes, Emphasizes Work for the People

Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has instructed regional leaders not to mobilize citizens for welcoming events during his work visits to various regions. President Prabowo conveyed this message on Tuesday (30/7) at an event for the mass signing of mortgage contracts for 62,000 subsidized houses, which was symbolically held in Batang, Central Java. "My brothers and sisters, although once again I ask the governors and regents, if I come, there is no need to mobilize the people to welcome me," said Prabowo. Prabowo stated that while he is happy to meet the people, including those who welcome his arrival in the regions, he feels sorry for the citizens who have to endure the heat on the roadside waiting for his presence. He emphasized that the most important thing is for the people to know that he and his administration are working wholeheartedly for the prosperity of the Indonesian people. "Just relax. The important thing is that we work for the people, that's what's important. I am sure the people know that this government is now working diligently for the Indonesian people," he said. On Thursday (30/7), the President conducted a work visit to Central Java. The visit began with the inauguration of the first phase of renovation for the cultural heritage building of Semarang Tawang Station. Afterwards, Prabowo proceeded to Batang by taking the Nusantara Explorer Train from Semarang Tawang Station to Batang City to inaugurate the mass mortgage contract signing for 62,000 houses, which was held at 165 locations in 372 regencies/cities across 36 provinces, with the main event centered in Batang City.
