President Prabowo Inspects New LRT Line (Kelapa Gading-Manggarai)

President Prabowo Subianto inspected the new Kelapa Gading-Manggarai Light Rail Transit (LRT) line in Jakarta on Wednesday (16/9/2026). This inspection is part of efforts to further develop Jakarta's public transportation network and enhance inter-city connectivity. President Prabowo arrived at Kelapa Gading Station at 1:00 PM WIB and was welcomed by DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung and others. At the station, junior high school students in blue and white uniforms enthusiastically welcomed the president, waving Indonesian flags. The president smiled and shook hands with the children. After tapping his card to enter the platform, President Prabowo, accompanied by Governor Pramono, departed from Kelapa Gading Station at 1:10 PM. Among the accompanying officials were Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. Several junior high school students and individuals with disabilities also joined the ride, and the president was seen casually chatting with the students. The journey from Kelapa Gading Station to Manggarai Station took approximately 22 minutes. The presidential entourage arrived at Manggarai Station at 1:30 PM. Following the inspection, President Prabowo is scheduled to attend the official inauguration ceremony for the new LRT Jakarta route at Manggarai Station. The new route spans approximately 12.2 kilometers and connects 11 stations: Kelapa Gading, Boulevard Utara, Boulevard Selatan, Pulomas, Equestrian, Velodrome, Rawamangun, Pramuka, Matraman, Proklamasi, and Manggarai. The estimated travel time from Kelapa Gading to Manggarai is about 28 minutes. The opening of this LRT line marks a significant step in improving public transportation in Jakarta and strengthening integration between different modes of transport.
