
No fish kill reported from Ilocos oil spill; BFAR monitoring coastal areas
The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) is monitoring the impact of an oil spill from a grounded and sunken cargo vessel off Ilocos Norte on fisheries and fisherfolk livelihoods. No fish kill or abnormal fish behavior has been reported, with no confirmed contamination of fish products.
