Vietnam Legislators Review Bills to Streamline Agriculture, Environment Procedures

Vietnam's National Assembly is reviewing draft laws aimed at simplifying administrative procedures and business conditions in the agriculture and environment sectors. Minister of Agriculture and Environment Trinh Viet Hung stated that the draft law is designed to institutionalize the Party's policy of reducing and simplifying administrative procedures and business conditions, while promoting decentralization, innovation, and more effective state governance. This initiative is part of the broader efforts by the Communist Party of Vietnam to streamline regulations and enhance administrative efficiency to accelerate economic growth. Vietnam has been focusing on improving its business environment to attract domestic and foreign investment, crucial for sustaining its remarkable economic growth in recent years. Cumbersome procedures in key sectors like agriculture and environment have been identified as potential burdens for businesses and obstacles to investment. This legislative review seeks to address these challenges and provide more efficient and transparent administrative services. If passed, the amendments are expected to revise 10 related laws, making it easier for businesses, especially small and medium-sized enterprises and new entrants, to start and operate their ventures. This move reflects the administrative capacity and strong commitment to economic development within Vietnam's one-party system. In parallel, the National Assembly is also considering special mechanisms for the Ring Road No. 5 project and has approved Nguyen Tien Hai as the new Minister of Home Affairs, indicating ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and infrastructure development.
