Cambodian Defense Minister Visits Border Troops, Delivers Aid from Prime Minister

On September 23, 2026, Cambodian Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Dith Tina, visited the 5th Military Region troops stationed in the northwestern border region and delivered慰問品 (comfort items). This visit was conducted as a symbol of the cooperation and bond of friendship between civilian institutions and the armed forces. Minister Tina conveyed warm messages from Senate President Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet to the troops. He highly praised the soldiers' dedicated efforts, courage, and deep patriotism in defending the border. The minister commended the troops for their unwavering commitment to protecting the nation's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the peace of the entire nation, without succumbing to any difficulties they face. Furthermore, Minister Tina personally handed over supplies from Prime Minister Hun Manet and his wife, Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, to the troops. He stated that this serves as clear evidence of the strong "bond of friendship" between civilian institutions and front-line forces. It was emphasized that such support not only involves sharing materials and food but also provides significant encouragement to the front-line troops, boosting their confidence and spirit in fulfilling their duties. It was pointed out that the joint efforts between the front lines and the rear (civilian institutions) are a crucial foundation for maintaining the precious peace, which was won through the immense sacrifices of previous generations. The strengthening of this cooperation will continue to ensure political stability and social security, which are indispensable prerequisites for Cambodia to continue its economic development and improve the living standards of its citizens, the report concluded.
