Prabowo Expresses Gratitude to Democratic Party and Former President SBY

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto expressed his profound gratitude to the Democratic Party for their support in his political endeavors, particularly during the 2019 and 2024 presidential elections, during the party's 25th-anniversary celebration. He specifically lauded the direct involvement of former Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) in campaigning alongside him. "I am grateful for the support of the Democratic Party, in 2019, 2024, until President SBY also went to the field, went down together to campaign," Prabowo stated, highlighting the party's backing. He believes this support signifies the presence of shared ideals and principles in building Indonesia. Prabowo also commended the Democratic Party's chosen theme for their 25th anniversary: "advancing the people's economy, upholding justice, and keeping democracy alive." He expressed his strong approval, stating, "I am very, very happy with the theme chosen by the Democratic Party: advancing the people's economy, upholding justice, and keeping democracy alive." Drawing parallels between himself and SBY, Prabowo noted their shared background as TNI generals. He posited that this military experience instilled in them a sense of dedication to the people, which they have translated into their political paths by prioritizing democratic principles.
