Elderly man found dead in fish pond in South Okkalapa

An elderly man in his 70s drowned in a fish pond within the 7sou Pagoda compound in Ward 14, South Okkalapa Township, Yangon Region on the afternoon of September 22, according to the Metta Thit Thar Ye Shin Social Rescue Association, which went to the scene to assist. Upon receiving a report from the surroundings, they went to the scene and found the elderly man drowned in the pond, but no external injuries were observed. The elderly man who drowned was a resident of South Okkalapa Township, and contact has already been made with his family members, a responsible person from the Metta Thit Thar Ye Shin Social Rescue Association said. Currently, the elderly man's body has been sent to the mortuary at the Yangon General Hospital, and the South Okkalapa Myoma Police Station is conducting investigations, it is known.
