Egypt to Grant Visa on Arrival for Vietnamese Citizens

Following the elevation of bilateral ties to a Comprehensive Partnership in August 2025, concrete measures to deepen cooperation between Vietnam and Egypt are being discussed. As part of this, the granting of visa-on-arrival for Vietnamese citizens in Egypt has been confirmed. This was revealed by Vietnamese Ambassador to Egypt Nguyen Nam Duong during a meeting with Egyptian Deputy Foreign Minister for International Cooperation Samar Al-Ahdal in Cairo. This decision is expected to significantly contribute to increasing people-to-people exchanges between the two countries, particularly in tourism. Vietnam has expressed its readiness to cooperate with Egypt, other African nations, and UN agencies to enhance cybersecurity, as one of the first countries to ratify the convention for a safer cyberspace. Furthermore, the Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strategic cooperation with Kayan for International Trade, a company accounting for about 40% of Egypt’s apatite mining and export market share, indicating progress in resource sector collaboration. Under Vietnam's one-party system, foreign policy prioritizes national stability and economic development. This strengthening of ties with Egypt can be seen as part of Vietnam's strategy to build diverse partnerships while maintaining its complex relationship with China.
