Solo Bank Robber Steals 1.5 Million Baht, Burns Getaway Car to Destroy Evidence

A bank robbery occurred in Pathum Thani province, Thailand, on Tuesday, where a lone assailant stole approximately 1.5 million baht (equivalent to about 6.5 million Japanese yen). The perpetrator is believed to be acting alone and is suspected of attempting to destroy evidence by setting fire to the black Toyota Vios (equipped with a fake license plate) used for their escape. The vehicle was later found burned a few kilometers away. The incident took place at a bank within the Talat Thai market in Khlong Luang District, Pathum Thani. The assailant reportedly used a firearm-like object to threaten bank employees and seize cash. After the robbery, the perpetrator fled the scene in a black Toyota Vios. The vehicle was subsequently discovered burned in a bush area near the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), a few kilometers from the crime scene.
