Cambodian Minister of Post and Telecommunications Visits AI Tech Exhibition in Shanghai, Seeks Closer Ties with Chinese Firms

His Excellency Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, visited the Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology exhibition held in Shanghai, China, as part of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference taking place from July 17 to 20, 2026. Following the official meetings, His Excellency Chea Vandeth, accompanied by leaders from relevant departments and technical experts, visited the AI technology exhibition at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center. The visit aimed to gain direct insight into the latest developments in AI technology and emerging market trends. The Minister and his delegation toured exhibition booths and held working discussions with companies including Huawei, ZTE, China Telecom, and Alibaba. During the occasion, the companies showcased their latest technologies in AI and related fields. These included AI-specific computing machines and specialized services, operating systems, cloud technology platforms, and AI system development and operation platforms. These technologies boast new capabilities and enhanced speeds to adapt to the infrastructure demands of the AI era. His Excellency the Minister encouraged the technical teams from all parties to collaborate more closely to accelerate cooperation. This visit underscores Cambodia's commitment to embracing rapidly evolving AI technologies to foster the development of its digital economy. Strengthening ties with China's advanced technology firms is expected to play a significant role in Cambodia's infrastructure development and human resource training.
