Governor of DKI Jakarta, Pramono Anung, revealed that the celebration of Jakarta's 499th anniversary has had a significant positive impact on the capital's economy, with transaction values recorded during the anniversary period reaching an impressive Rp 2.4 trillion. "When we held the anniversary yesterday, I received the latest data, and the transactions on that day reached Rp 2.4 trillion," said Pramono at the Jakarta Creative Festival (JKF) event at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK), Jakarta, on Saturday (4/7/2026). Pramono explained that the increase in transactions was largely due to various breakthroughs made by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, including providing access to transportation and tourist destinations for just Rp 1 during the anniversary celebration. "And the transactions were much higher, and almost all of them used QRIS," he added. He cited the surge in visits to several provincial-owned tourist destinations, such as Ancol, which recorded around 80,000 visitors on June 28. This number surpassed previous records of about 30,000 to 32,000 visitors during the Idul Fitri holiday and New Year. "The net profit, which previously peaked at only Rp 1.5 billion, reached Rp 6.5 billion on June 28," he stated. A similar trend was observed at the Ragunan Wildlife Park (TMR). Pramono mentioned that the number of visitors to Ragunan reached 135,500 people, exceeding the previous record of around 102,000 visitors. He assessed that QRIS usage is increasingly strengthening as the primary payment method in Jakarta. Currently, QRIS transactions in Jakarta contribute approximately 38% of the total national QRIS transactions. "What makes me happy is that Jakarta's QRIS transactions now account for 38 percent of national transactions," he said. Pramono further explained that this achievement is also supported by the digitalization of 153 markets managed by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, which now fully utilize QRIS. Additionally, around 422,000 UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) actors in Jakarta are also leveraging this digital payment system. He stated that the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will continue to expand transaction digitalization by continuing competitions for QRIS usage in Jakarta's markets.
