Cambodian Dignitaries Distribute Aid to Religious Sites and Residents on Anniversary of Khmer Rouge Regime's End
Cambodian dignitaries Mr. Dy Vicha and Madam Hun Mana distributed alms for the rainy season and donated essential goods to 12 Buddhist pagodas and 130 elderly individuals and temple committees in the districts of Phnom Kravanh and Krakor, marking the anniversary of the end of the Khmer Rouge regime.
On the morning of Sunday, August 9, 2026, His Excellency Dy Vicha and Madam Hun Mana, representing the esteemed wishes of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittipreah Bun Rany Hun Sen, as well as Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Madam Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, presided over the distribution of alms for the rainy season and valuable donations to 12 Buddhist pagodas in Krakor district and Phnom Kravanh district of Pursat province. The event was jointly held at King Sihanouk Baromey Pagoda, also known as Phnom Khouf Pagoda, in Krakor district. His Excellency Dy Vicha and Madam Hun Mana conveyed greetings and well wishes from Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Kittipreah Bun Rany Hun Sen, and Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and Madam Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet to all monks, lay followers, elders, and citizens. They also dedicated all merits earned from this event to deceased ancestors and to the heroic Cambodian soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation, praying for peace and prosperity for the country. Additionally, they distributed school bags containing various study materials and food items to 120 students. The donations for each pagoda included: 1. 1 ton of rice 2. 30 small cases of instant noodles 3. 10 kg of dried fish 4. 1 case of canned fish (10 units) 5. 10 kg of sausages 6. 10 kg of pork 7. 2 cases of condensed milk 8. 5 large packs of coffee 9. 2 kg of tea 10. 1 bag of sugar 11. 1 bag of salt 12. 5 containers of fish sauce 13. 5 containers of soy sauce 14. 5 containers of chili sauce 15. 5 containers of seasoning sauce 16. 100 small bars of soap 17. 100 sets of toothbrushes and toothpaste 18. 100 bottles of cologne 19. 100 bottles of eucalyptus oil 20. 20 boxes of medicine 21. 102 sets of betel leaf preparations 22. 10 bags of laundry detergent 23. 2 pairs of candles for the rainy season 24. 2 million Riel in cash The gift packages for the elderly individuals included: 1. 1 box of medicine (4 types) 2. 1 tube of toothpaste 3. 1 toothbrush 4. 1 small bottle of cologne 5. 1 small bottle of eucalyptus oil 6. 1 small bar of body soap 7. 12 sachets of shampoo 8. 1 sachet of laundry detergent 9. 1 piece of white cloth 10. 1 Krama (scarf) 11. 1 large towel 12. 1 blanket 13. 1 large pack of coffee 14. 1 bucket of biscuits 15. 1 kg of sugar 16. 1 pack of tea 17. 2 cans of condensed milk 18. 1 pair of slippers 19. 50,000 Riel in cash Following the ceremony at Phnom Khouf Pagoda, His Excellency and Madam, along with their working group, proceeded to Lang Trach Pagoda in Svay Sar commune, Krakor district, Pursat province, to inspect the condition of the temple premises in a joyful atmosphere.
