PM Orders Urgent Probe into Deadly Bus Overturn on Hanoi Expressway

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has ordered an urgent investigation into a serious bus overturn accident that occurred on a highway near the capital city of Hanoi. The accident took place at around 00:20 a.m. on April 20, in Chuong Duong Commune, along the Phap Van–Cau Gie–Cao Bo–Mai Son–National Highway 45–Nghi Son route. An official dispatch was sent to the ministers of Public Security and Construction, as well as the chairpersons of provincial and municipal People's Committees, highlighting the gravity of the incident. The directive calls for a swift and thorough probe into the causes of the accident and the formulation of concrete measures to prevent similar tragedies in the future. Vietnam has been rapidly developing its road infrastructure to keep pace with its economic growth. However, challenges such as increasing traffic volume, aging vehicles, and driver safety awareness persist. Accidents involving long-distance buses and trucks have frequently resulted in multiple casualties.
