PATTAYA, September 23rd, 2026 -- Operators of beach umbrellas and sunbeds in Pattaya marched to City Hall on Wednesday, protesting and submitting a petition to expand parking along Beach Road, claiming that new traffic regulations have drastically cut their income. The group was led by Weerawit Charoenritthaweechok, 30, president of the association. Protesters carried signs that read "We need more parking," and "Protect our livelihoods." According to the vendors, the recently implemented traffic rules have restricted vehicle access along Beach Road, making it difficult for customers to reach their businesses.
