Cambodia Reviews Progress of Labor Dispute Resolution Mechanism

The Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training of Cambodia recently held a meeting to review the progress of the Arbitration Council in resolving labor disputes. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Suvanna Vannarath, Secretary of State, representing His Excellency Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training. Approximately 30 participants attended, including members of the Arbitration Council, its secretariat, and the Arbitration Council Fund. Ms. Vannarath emphasized the importance of this meeting in assessing the progress of resolving individual labor disputes following the issuance of Decree No. 098 KB/Pr.K.V.K dated April 13, 2026, concerning the Arbitration Council. The meeting indicated that the process of submitting individual dispute cases to the Arbitration Council for further resolution and the resolution process by the council are proceeding smoothly and continue to receive support from stakeholders. The Arbitration Council has been handling individual disputes that were not resolved through conciliation by labor dispute conciliators since May 11, 2026, in accordance with the procedures and regulations stipulated in Decree No. 098/26 KB/Pr.K.K on the Arbitration Council.
