Four Foreign Nationals Arrested in Alleged Gold Store Robbery Attempt in Dak Lak

Four foreign nationals have been arrested in Vietnam's central Dak Lak province for allegedly attempting to steal gold items from a jewelry store. The incident occurred around 7 a.m. on September 15th at the Tien Vien jewelry store in Song Cau ward. Shortly after the store opened, a man and a woman entered. While the man engaged the store owner in conversation, the woman moved to the area where gold jewelry was displayed. There, she opened a showcase with the key still in the lock and stole three gold necklaces valued at approximately 208 million Vietnamese dong (around $8,500 USD). The store owner noticed the theft and shouted for help, causing the woman to drop the stolen gold. The suspects then quickly fled the store and got into a white car, where two accomplices were waiting. The group sped away. Following a report to the police, the vehicle was intercepted around 8 a.m. on National Highway 1D, near the border with Gia Lai province, about 40 kilometers from the scene. The four individuals in the car, believed to be three men and one woman, were taken in for questioning. Authorities have not yet disclosed the nationalities of the four arrested foreigners.
