Cambodia Accelerates Land Title Issuance to Ensure Legal Security and Economic Growth
Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet distributed over 23,000 land titles to residents in Kandal province on July 29, 2026. This initiative is a key government strategy to ensure legal security of land tenure, reduce disputes, and attract investment.
Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, on the morning of Wednesday, July 29, 2026, attended the handover ceremony of land ownership certificates (immovable property ownership identification certificates) to 23,067 households in the communes of Chey Thom, Roka Chongluor, and Puk Ruesi, Kandal Stung district, Kandal Province. On this occasion, Samdech Thipadei stated that the achievements realized today are a testament to the high efforts and strong commitment of the Royal Government of Cambodia, through the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, as well as the Kandal Provincial Administration, in effectively implementing land policies. Regarding this issue, Samdech Thipadei emphasized that "The campaign of land measurement and issuance of land ownership certificates to citizens nationwide is a key strategy and one of the highest priorities of the Royal Government, with the aim of providing legal security for land tenure, protecting the legal rights of owners, and reducing land disputes in the localities to the maximum extent." Furthermore, he added that this achievement serves as a strong foundation for land management, updating cadastral data, protecting state public property, as well as attracting investment to ensure equitable, inclusive, and sustainable socio-economic development.
