Cambodia's National Institute of Statistics Seeks 16 Contract Officers to Bolster Expertise

The Ministry of Public Function announced on July 20 the recruitment of 16 contract officers to serve at the National Institute of Statistics (under the Ministry of Planning). This initiative aims to strengthen the institute's professional capabilities. The recruitment covers five professional roles: one senior specialist, one statistic development policy and strategy specialist, six economic specialists, five statistics specialists, and three IT specialists. Applications will be accepted online from July 20 until 5:00 PM on August 18. Applicants are required to register their information via QR code or the official website and to check their email for subsequent procedures. The Ministry of Public Function has warned that any candidate found to have falsified degrees or documents will have their qualification revoked, even if they pass the examination, and may face legal consequences. Furthermore, successful candidates will not be permitted to transfer their work location for any reason during their contract period. Notably, Buddhist monks who are successful in the recruitment must renounce their monastic vows and will not be able to retain their current positions. Civil servants selected for contract positions will be placed on unpaid leave until the end of their contract. This recruitment drive is intended to enhance Cambodia's statistical capacity and support data-driven policymaking. Securing specialized personnel in economics, statistics, and IT is crucial for Cambodia to adapt to its diversifying and increasingly sophisticated economy. Amid deepening economic ties with China, robust statistical data collection and analysis capabilities are becoming ever more vital for national development strategies.
