Military Council attacks Min Htet, Kanpetlet, Saw, Yedashe and Singu with airstrikes and heavy weapons, one civilian killed in Yedashe

Yangon, July 17 The Military Council has been carrying out a series of attacks using jet fighter aircraft, Y-12 bomber aircraft, and heavy weapons in some townships in Chin State, Magway Region, Bago Region, and Mandalay Region, according to local news sources. This afternoon, July 17, the Military Council launched airstrikes on two locations in the town of Min Htet, Chin State. It was learned that a jet fighter aircraft that took off from Taungoo Air Base dropped two bombs, believed to be 500-pound bombs with strong explosive power, on Min Htet town twice at 6:07 PM and 6:12 PM. Prior to Min Htet, on the night of July 16, the Military Council launched intense airstrikes near Kanpetlet town in Chin State and the southern part of Saw Township in Magway Region. A jet fighter from Taungoo Air Base dropped four bombs on a location near Kanpetlet town at 6:54 PM and 7:08 PM. Furthermore, around 8:00 PM, four bombs were dropped on a location in the southern part of Saw Township by a jet fighter, and it was learned that the Military Council's Y-12 bomber aircraft carried out more than five bombing attacks on the southern part of Saw Township throughout the night. Similarly, on July 10, around 12:40 PM, the Military Council launched an unprovoked airstrike with a jet fighter on Si Pyay village on the eastern bank of the Sittaung River in Yedashe Township, Taungoo District, Bago Region. As a result of this bombing, an innocent civilian in Si Pyay village was decapitated and died instantly, another local resident sustained serious injuries, and some houses were damaged. Local organizations have warned that the Military Council is continuously carrying out airstrikes targeting villages and monasteries inhabited by civilians, which are not related to military activities. They urge the public to be extremely cautious of the dangers of airstrikes and heavy weapon attacks, which constitute war crimes. Similarly, it has been learned from local residents that on July 17, the Military Council camp in Htongyi village, Singu Township, Mandalay Region, has been continuously firing heavy weapons indiscriminately in a southwesterly direction from their camp using 81mm mortars. The extent of casualties from this attack has not yet been confirmed.
