Vietnam Airlines to Lease 19 Boeing 737 MAX 8 Aircraft

Vietnam Airlines has announced plans to lease an additional 19 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft from three leading global aircraft leasing companies. The deliveries are expected to be completed within 2028. This agreement was made within the framework of the Farnborough International Airshow 2026, held on July 22, 2026. These new aircraft are scheduled for full delivery throughout 2028. This fleet expansion is seen as part of Vietnam Airlines' strategy to enhance service quality and customer experience as the core entity of Vietnam's aviation industry. Vietnam Airlines is continuously modernizing its fleet to cope with the growth of the domestic aviation market and the expansion of its international network. The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is expected to contribute to improving the airline's operational efficiency, featuring enhanced fuel efficiency and extended range.
