Cambodia Sends Two Doctoral Scholarship Recipients to Japan, Education Minister Encourages

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport (MoEYS) of Cambodia has congratulated two scholarship recipients who will pursue doctoral studies in Japan. On the afternoon of September 2, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of MoEYS, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, met with the scholarship awardees and praised their efforts and academic achievements. H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron encouraged the students to uphold discipline and ethics during their studies in Japan, and to absorb the latest knowledge and research experiences. He specifically advised them to effectively and responsibly utilize digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to aid their studies. Furthermore, the Minister emphasized the importance of the scholarship recipients adapting to their new lifestyle, diet, and climate in Japan, and maintaining their health. He also urged them to enhance the nation''s honor by sharing Cambodia's culture and traditions with their international friends. Under the AUN/SEED-Net-JICA scholarship program, the two selected students will pursue their doctoral studies in Transport Engineering and Urban Planning at Yokohama National University and in Food Science and Technology at Kyushu University, respectively.
