Cambodia Advocates for Democratic and Equitable International Order at UN Human Rights Council

On September 9, 2026, during the 63rd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, His Excellency Ke Sovann, Cambodia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Geneva, delivered an intervention during an interactive dialogue with independent experts. The session focused on the agenda item regarding the promotion of a democratic and equitable international order. Ambassador Ke Sovann reiterated that the UN Charter and international law must serve as guiding principles for a democratic and equitable international order. He stated that seeking the use of these mechanisms should not be perceived as confrontation or an escalation of conflict, but rather as legal and constructive avenues to prevent further tensions and contribute to just and lasting solutions.
