Indonesia's Industry, Mining, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Manufacturing Minister has stated the nation's objective to transform from merely an automotive market into an automotive production hub that drives exports. To achieve this goal, the government plans to focus on strengthening the automotive industry's value chain. The minister highlighted the significant growth of Indonesia's domestic automotive market in recent years, emphasizing the necessity of leveraging this growth to expand automotive exports to international markets in the future. Specifically, the aim is to enhance the domestic automotive parts manufacturing capacity and foster related industries to strengthen the entire supply chain. Through these efforts, Indonesia seeks to establish itself as a central hub for automotive production in the ASEAN region. This strategy is expected to contribute to domestic job creation and economic growth. The government also intends to attract foreign direct investment and promote the adoption of the latest technologies to boost the competitiveness of Indonesia's automotive industry.
