BAGUIO CITY — The Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) turned over P5 million to the Baguio City government to strengthen community-based drug prevention and rehabilitation efforts. DDB Undersecretary Armando Ramolete, during last Monday’s flag raising rites at the Baguio City Hall, said the grant will fund the enhancement and rehabilitation of a local multipurpose facility that will be converted into a community development center supporting programs aimed at preventing drug abuse and aiding rehabilitation. Mr. Ramolete stressed that while law enforcement remains vital in the anti-drug campaign, lasting solutions require prevention, rehabilitation, active community participation, and empowered local governments. He said the financial assistance reflects the DDB’s continuing partnership with local government units in pursuing a balanced, health-centered and evidence-based approach to addressing illegal drugs.
