Poipet Province, Cambodia, Facilitates Resident Travel Through Road Repairs

Governor Khoy Rida of Poipet Province in western Cambodia on July 30 inspected road repair work on National Road 154D, connecting Binh Khnar Commune to Mae Teak Commune in Bakan District, to promote efforts for smoother resident travel. This repair work followed an inspection of a concrete bridge construction site crossing the Poipet River. The governor directed the filling of potholes and repair of damaged sections on this vital route for local residents. Over 4 kilometers of repairs have reportedly been completed since July 28, 2026. The inspection also aimed to draw attention from local authorities to the importance of maintaining existing road infrastructure, expecting to ensure smoother, safer, and more comfortable daily travel and agricultural product transportation for residents. Governor Khoy Rida strongly stated at the site, "We must not rely solely on national government budgets. District, commune, and village authorities must find solutions and continue to mobilize development partners and residents to implement permanent measures that facilitate the travel of our people." He added that such infrastructure restoration activities serve as an important model, encouraging all districts and cities within Poipet Province to initiate similar exemplary efforts as Binh Khnar Commune, aiming to strengthen cooperation and the spirit of ownership in local development for doubled progress. The Poipet Provincial Administration firmly believes that the efforts under the cooperative relationship between authorities and residents will continue to be a crucial driving force in effectively resolving various challenges for the utmost benefit of the local population.
