Aiming to strengthen economic ties in Vietnam's southern Mekong Delta region, a Vietnam-China trade, investment, and tourism promotion forum officially opened in Can Tho City on September 18. Co-organized by the Can Tho Department of Industry and Trade and the Vietnam-Asia Net Zero Association, the event attracted over 300 businesses from both countries. Under the theme "Leveraging the Mekong Delta's Central Role in Smart Supply Chain Linkages - Promoting Green Trade - Creating New Growth Engines," the forum aims to build a practical connection platform between management agencies, associations, and the business community. Key focuses include promoting investment cooperation, technology transfer, and the development of a green and circular economy. Leaders from Can Tho emphasized their desire to deepen extensive cooperation in areas such as logistics, deep processing of agricultural and aquatic products, e-commerce, and green technology. The city anticipates the formation of numerous contracts, investment projects, and long-term cooperation programs following the event. Participating businesses and industry associations shared information on trade, investment, and tourism between the two countries, discussing opportunities, challenges, and barriers that need to be overcome to accelerate bilateral trade growth, particularly in the agricultural sector. Within the framework of the forum, several key activities took place, including specialized seminars, business matchmaking sessions, an exhibition of OCOP products (One Commune One Product), the signing of cooperation agreements, and field surveys. The event is expected to enhance Can Tho's capacity to participate in global supply chains and drive breakthrough growth for the city and the entire Mekong Delta region. Source: Nhan Dan
