Roque challenges Remulla to prove asylum denial
Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque has challenged Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla to present proof that his asylum application in Europe has been denied. Remulla maintains his statement, citing the lapse of the application period. Roque has dismissed the claims as "fake news."
Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla stands by his statement that the asylum application of former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque in Europe has been denied, challenging Roque to present evidence to the contrary. Remulla stated that the usual six-month period for processing asylum applications has lapsed for Roque. "The burden of proof is with him to prove that it hasn't been denied," Remulla said, maintaining his stance. Roque, however, has branded Remulla's claims as "fake news." Presidential press officer Claire Castro also urged Roque not to use influence, connections, or public appeal to evade criminal charges. Roque is currently facing an arrest warrant for qualified human trafficking, linked to Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGO).
