Bun Rany Hun Sen Offers Condolences on Passing of Iang Sophalet's Mother

Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross, has sent a letter of condolence to Dr. Iang Sophalet and his wife, expressing deep sorrow on the passing of his mother, Iang Sophat. Sophat passed away on Wednesday, the 5th day of the Bhadrapada month, in the eighth year of the Rabbit, 2570 B.E., corresponding to September 16, 2026, at 6:43 PM in Canada, at the age of 93, due to natural causes. The condolence letter stated, "In this extremely sorrowful time, I join in expressing my deepest condolences to Dr. Iang Sophalet, his wife, and their entire family on the loss of their beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She dedicated herself to raising, nurturing, and providing good moral guidance to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, enabling them to become intelligent individuals and leaders, valuable human resources for the nation. Furthermore, Iang Sophat was a model Buddhist follower who consistently contributed to many societal achievements, both within the secular realm and the Buddhist Sangha, promoting Buddhism in Cambodia with compassion and noble virtues."
