PHANAT NIKHOM, Chonburi: Villagers in Wat Bot Subdistrict gathered on Sunday, September 13th, to continue one of Thailand’s last remaining traditions of offering homemade khanom krok to monks. Local leaders now hope to register this unique practice as provincial intangible cultural heritage. The 2026 Wat Bot Subdistrict Khanom Krok Alms-Giving Festival opened at the preaching hall of the local temple, where residents prepared the sweet coconut milk pancakes. This tradition, observed during the mid-Lent period, is a rare sight in Thailand.
