Haiphong Business Association in Southern Vietnam Holds General Meeting, Strengthens Regional Ties

In Ho Chi Minh City, the economic hub of southern Vietnam, the Haiphong Business Association in the Southern Region announced the upcoming General Meeting for the 2026-2031 term. This event, held on September 22nd in Ho Chi Minh City, brought together approximately 400 entrepreneurs from Haiphong or with ties to the region operating in the southern provinces. The general meeting aims to strengthen member networks, facilitate information exchange, and build a cooperative framework for further regional economic development. Vietnam, under its one-party system, has experienced rapid economic growth, with the southern region, in particular, actively attracting foreign investment and serving as a center for manufacturing and services. In this context, inter-regional collaboration among business associations is a crucial element for revitalizing the domestic economy. The announcement also highlighted discussions on supporting the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and strengthening supply chain integration with global companies like South Korea's LG Group. This aligns with Vietnam's national strategy to enhance its position in international supply chains. The Vietnamese government is promoting policies to support business activities, aiming for sustained economic growth and improved international competitiveness. Providing platforms for local entrepreneurs to expand their networks nationwide and seize business opportunities, beyond just the capital region or economic zones, is particularly emphasized. Haiphong, a major port city in northern Vietnam, is also undergoing development as an economic zone.
