Educational cooperation between Vietnam and Japan is entering a new phase, with a focus on fostering human resources, scientific research, academic exchange, and cultural interaction. The "Vietnam-Japan Educational Cooperation" meeting, held in Hanoi on July 18, brought together educational institutions, businesses, and experts from both countries to discuss deepening collaboration. The event, co-organized by the Institute for Applied Technology and Education Development (INTED) and the Vietnam-Japan Center for Cultural and Educational Cooperation Promotion (VJCE), aimed to strengthen ties between educational institutions of the two nations. The goal is to advance human resource development, scientific research, academic exchange, and expand cultural and educational exchange programs in the current era. Dr. Ha Ngoc Anh, Director of INTED, stated that Vietnam-Japan educational cooperation is moving into a period of strong development, focusing not only on human resource training but also on building a comprehensive cooperation ecosystem among schools, businesses, and social organizations of both countries. He highlighted the meeting as an opportunity for managers, experts, and lecturers from both nations to share valuable experiences in educational innovation, digital transformation in education, high-quality human resource training, vocational skill development, the application of artificial intelligence in teaching, and enhancing scientific research cooperation and student exchanges. Ms. Vu Thi Lien Huong, Head of the Education Department at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, affirmed that Vietnam-Japan relations are developing robustly across many fields, with education and training consistently being one of the crucial pillars. She noted that strengthening connections between educational institutions, organizations, and businesses of both countries not only contributes to improving the quality of human resources but also promotes people-to-people exchanges, enhancing mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples. During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for cooperation was signed between VJCE and Vietnam Education Publishing House. VJCE also officially announced the opening of its representative office in Hanoi, marking a new development in strengthening direct connections between educational partners of the two countries. This office will serve as a focal point for implementing educational and cultural cooperation programs, Japanese language training, study abroad consulting, school and business matchmaking, and people-to-people exchange activities between Vietnam and Japan. Furthermore, the "J-KIDS Japanese Talent 2026" competition was officially announced. This nationwide competition for children who love the Japanese language aims to ignite passion for foreign languages, discover and nurture young talent, and contribute to enhancing cultural exchange between the young generations of Vietnam and Japan.
