Vietnam Sees Showers and Thunderstorms Nationwide; Typhoon No. 3 Weakens to Tropical Depression

On August 6th, showers and thunderstorms are forecast across Vietnam, with some areas expected to experience heavy rainfall. Specifically, the Northern and North Central regions are predicted to receive moderate to heavy rain ranging from 30-60mm, with localized downpours exceeding 180mm. Meanwhile, Typhoon No. 3 has weakened into a tropical depression in the Bashi Channel and is unlikely to re-enter the East Sea. However, Vietnam has been experiencing intermittent rain and thunderstorms in various parts of the country for the past few weeks. Heavy localized rainfall was observed nationwide on July 31st, and in Hanoi on July 29th. On August 2nd, while the Northern region saw sunny spells during the day, rain occurred in the afternoon and evening. Showers and thunderstorms were also recorded across the country on August 4th. These unstable weather conditions can affect agricultural production, infrastructure, and the daily lives of citizens. In particular, heavy downpours increase the risk of floods and landslides, necessitating caution. Vietnam, while continuing its economic growth, is a country vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, making adaptation to extreme weather events an urgent task.
