The incident, which occurred in the Bang Bua Thong district of the province, saw the man attack his mother with a 60 cm blade. A deputy inspector who responded to the report attempted to apprehend the man, but the man slashed the officer's arm, causing a serious injury and a broken bone. As the man continued to brandish the weapon and advance on the officer, the officer fired his weapon, hitting the man in the leg. The man was injured and taken into custody at the scene. The incident is believed to be linked to the man's drug use.
