The Democratic Karen Buddhist Army (DKBA) Central Headquarters announced today, July 29, that none of its troops are involved in the ongoing military conflicts in the Phru region, and that any involvement will be severely punished. The announcement referred to the fact that restrictions and directives have already been issued to ensure that DKBA troops are not involved in the military conflicts occurring in the Phru region. The Central Executive Committee (CEC) clearly stated its position that any member who violates the army's orders and regulations and becomes involved in the military conflicts in the region in any form will not be accepted at all and will be effectively and severely punished. This announcement comes at a time when military tensions and conflicts continue to escalate in the Phru region of Karen State. The DKBA has officially announced with the approval of the Central Executive Committee to inform the public and relevant organizations of its stance regarding the ongoing clashes and the non-involvement of its troops.
