Thailand Launches Poverty Alleviation Sandbox in 20 Provinces

The Thai government has decided to pilot a "sandbox" program aimed at poverty alleviation in 20 provinces nationwide, following an assessment that identified over one million individuals living in true poverty. This initiative seeks to more accurately understand the reality of poverty and develop an effective poverty reduction model. While poverty support measures have been implemented in the past, challenges have been noted regarding their targets and effectiveness. The sandbox approach aims to intensively trial various support measures in specific areas, verify their effectiveness, and thereby lead to more impactful policies.
