TD Luis: Heavy rains make Aurora spillway impassable to light vehicles
Persistent rains from Tropical Depression "Luis" have rendered a river crossing (spillway) in Dipaculao, Aurora, impassable to light vehicles as water levels rose, authorities reported.
A river crossing (spillway) in Barangay Dianed at the Aurora town of Dipaculao has been rendered impassable to light vehicles as of 6 a.m. Monday (Aug. 3) due to persistent rains brought by Tropical Depression “Luis.” Water levels in the area have risen, making passage difficult for vehicles. The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Dipaculao reported the situation. The heavy rains associated with Tropical Depression Luis have caused river levels to surge to dangerous heights, raising concerns about potential flooding, particularly in low-lying areas. The MDRRMO has urged residents to stay informed and be prepared for possible evacuations. Philippines, being in a typhoon-prone region, frequently experiences heavy rainfall and flooding during its monsoon season, making such impacts on infrastructure a recurring concern.
