Thailand and India Discuss Strengthening Cooperation in Aviation, Maritime, and Road Transport

Thai Transport Minister Pipat met with the Indian Ambassador to Thailand to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two countries in the fields of aviation, maritime, and road transport. The meeting particularly focused on expanding cooperation in the aviation sector. Specifically, a policy was confirmed aiming to increase the number of flights between Thailand and India, develop new route networks, and enhance the overall safety of air transport. This discussion is seen as aiming to strengthen the economic ties between the two nations and promote the exchange of people and goods. Thailand, in particular, plays a central hub role in ASEAN, and strengthening cooperation with India could contribute to revitalizing the logistics network of the entire region. Possibilities for cooperation were also explored in the maritime and road transport sectors.
