Some workers from Teng Hui Myanmar, a wool factory with 2,000 workers, will be transferred to other wool factories

Some workers from the wool factory Teng Hui Myanmar, which has approximately 2,000 workers and is scheduled for a temporary suspension in Tantabin Township, will be transferred to work in other wool factories, according to U Ye Yint Soe Nyunt, a Member of Parliament for Constituency No. 7. On September 7, Members of Parliament and officials from the Ministry of Labour, Immigration and Population visited the factory, met with workers and employers, and discussed business matters. "This factory is temporarily suspending operations. We are currently coordinating to transfer over 2,000 workers from that factory to work in other factories. Other factories are in great need of workers. As far as I know, they need up to 5,000 workers," said U Ye Yint Soe Nyunt, the Member of Parliament for Constituency No. 7. The Teng Hui Myanmar factory, known among workers as the Teng Hui factory, is located in Rakhine Yoe Gyi Village, Tantabin Township, Yangon Region (near the West University roundabout) and is a factory that sews and exports products for the globally renowned H&M brand. Some factory officials have stated that the factory is temporarily suspending operations due to a decrease in the availability of raw materials and a reduction in orders. The Teng Hui Myanmar factory has been in operation since 2013, for a period of 13 years, and has over 2,000 workers. It is understood that some workers from the factory will be transferred to work at the Create Beauty Myanmar wool garment factory located in the Myawngtakar Industrial Zone in Hmawbi Township. This factory requires over 500 workers. "Factories have a very high demand for workers. Some factories are in Hlaing Thar Yar for interviews. However, they come all the way to Tantabin to recruit workers. Hlaing Thar Yar and Tantabin are not very far apart. But they come to recruit workers even at the expense of fuel costs. Even if the machines used in the factories are different from one factory to another, they conduct interviews and hire them on the spot. There is a demand for workers," said U Ye Yint Soe Nyunt. Furthermore, it is known that approximately 3,000 workers are needed in factories such as Create Beauty (Myanmar) kitted Wear, TwinkleLight, Myanmar Poucken, Peak Outdoor Yangon, Euro Style, and Hanfat Myanmar sweater factories.
