Vice President Sara Duterte visited Senator Jinggoy Estrada and former lawmaker Mike Defensor, who are currently detained at the Quezon City Jail. The visit lasted for three hours, with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology confirming Duterte spoke with the detainees.
Vice President Sara Duterte on Tuesday visited senators Jinggoy Estrada and Rodante Marcoleta, as well as former House lawmaker Mike Defensor, in the Quezon City Jail in Payatas. In a GMA News report from Jonathan Andal, the vice president’s convoy could be seen entering the premises. The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology said that Duterte spoke to Estrada, Marcoleta and Defensor when she visited. Duterte stayed in the jail premises for three hours. She had entered sometime around 12:00 PM and left past 3:00 PM. Estrada is currently in prison, facing a P537 million plunder charge in relation to the flood control scam. Defensor is also under arrest for allegedly donating P30 million of that amount to Marcoleta.
