Motorcycle Taxi Riders Back Provisional Authority Registration

MANILA, Philippines — A motorcycle taxi riders’ group on Thursday backed the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board’s (LTFRB) move to open registration for provisional authority to operate. The Motorcycle Taxi Riders Organization (METRO) said the provisional authority to operate ensures clearer registration, verified riders, and greater accountability in the industry. "It’s about time to have this," METRO said in a statement. The group emphasized that the provisional authority is a step towards having a more organized and accountable motorcycle taxi industry.
