Myanmar and China discuss cooperation on immigration matters

Union Minister U Myint Kyaing of the Ministry of Immigration and Population met with Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar Ms. Ma Jia on the morning of July 10 at the Union Minister's guesthouse in Nay Pyi Taw. It is reported that discussions were held on continued cooperation to facilitate immigration matters between Myanmar and China. During the meeting, discussions covered immigration-related operations and visa issuance procedures between Myanmar and China, the entry and exit of Chinese nationals, including Chinese entrepreneurs, into Myanmar with various types of visas, and the Ministry's provision of stay permits. Furthermore, discussions also included the legal investigation, detection, and action being taken against illegal entry into Myanmar by foreigners, including Chinese nationals, and their engagement in online money laundering activities, as well as the legal entry and exit of border region residents between Myanmar and China through border gates. In addition, it is reported that an exchange of views took place regarding the conditions for continued cooperation to facilitate friendly relations and immigration matters between Myanmar and China.
