Preah Vihear Governor Calls for Strengthened Partnership with NGOs to Boost Local Development

Preah Vihear Governor Kim Rithy has strongly urged for the reinforcement of cooperation between provincial, municipal, and district administrations and various associations and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) operating within the province, aiming to further accelerate local development. The appeal was made during the opening ceremony of a consultation forum held on July 22, 2026, at the Preah Vihear Provincial Hall, bringing together NGOs, associations, and communities active in the province. The forum was organized with the objective of enhancing consultations, exchanging experiences, and understanding the progress and challenges faced by associations, NGOs, and communities in their local activities. Furthermore, the forum focused on guiding the implementation of roles and duties in accordance with laws, statutes, and relevant regulations, as well as strengthening partnerships and cooperation with the provincial administration to contribute to the province's development. In his address, Governor Kim Rithy expressed his profound appreciation and commendation to all associations, NGOs, and communities that have actively collaborated with the provincial administration. He acknowledged their efforts in improving the living standards of the people, carrying out humanitarian work, protecting natural resources and the environment, and contributing to the development of infrastructure and other priority sectors in Preah Vihear province. The governor emphasized that strong cooperation between the provincial administration and development partners is a crucial factor in ensuring the effective and transparent implementation of projects and activities, and in better responding to the actual needs of the local population. He further encouraged all associations, NGOs, and communities to continue their cooperation, maintain harmony, and work together with local authorities to implement the government's development policies and promote the sustainable and further progress of Preah Vihear province.
