Cambodia's Top Diplomat to Visit Malaysia, Chair Joint Commission Meeting
Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Prak Sokhonn, will visit Malaysia from August 3-4 to co-chair the 3rd Meeting of the Cambodia-Malaysia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation. The meeting will review progress and outline measures to deepen bilateral ties.
AKP Phnom Penh, July 31, 2026 -- Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn will pay an official visit to Malaysia from Aug. 3 to 4, at the invitation of his Malaysian counterpart H.E. Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad bin Haji Hasan. According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation this afternoon, H.E. Prak Sokhonn will pay a courtesy call on H.E. Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia, and co-chair with H.E. Mohamad Hasan the 3rd Meeting of the Cambodia-Malaysia Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation (JCBC). The 3rd JCBC will comprehensively review the progress made in implementing the Agreed Minutes of the 2nd JCBC and previously concluded agreements. It will further outline concrete measures to deepen and broaden cooperation across multiple sectors, thereby injecting fresh momentum into the robust and multifaceted relations between Cambodia and Malaysia. “This forthcoming visit by H.E. Deputy Prime Minister reinforces the enduring bonds of friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation of the two peoples, and underscores the shared commitment of both countries to advancing peace, prosperity, and sustainable development,” the press release stressed.
