MGY Region CM inspected irrigation projects

To secure irrigation water for an initial 100 acres out of the 322 acres of monsoon-season paddy land in Myin Saing Village, Myin Saing Village Tract, Magway Township, a solar-powered groundwater irrigation project was implemented using the Region Government's fund of 250 million kyats in the 2026-2027 fiscal year, it’s learnt. In the morning on July 25th, Magway Region Chief Minister U Tin Ko Ko and responsible officials went to inspect this irrigation project and the monsoon paddy cultivation activities. During the inspection, after hearing explanations and presentations from responsible officials, the Region Chief Minister gave guidance and instructions to conduct field surveys to identify and explore areas with favorable soil conditions for similar irrigation water extraction and utilization, and to plan and implement projects for the remaining monsoon-season paddy lands on a fiscal-year basis. Subsequently, the Region Chief Minister met with local farmers and provided necessary guidance and instructions. After that, the Region Chief Minister and responsible officials went to inspect the completed construction of the Zwe iron-reinforced concrete steel sluice gate, built in the Set Set Yo Chaung area, which covers 16 square miles near Tha Phan Kone Village, Tayok Kaw Group, Taungdwingyi Township, at milepost (280/5) on the Taungdwingyi-Magway road. During the inspection, responsible officials explained that the sluice gate construction has been completed and will benefit 650 acres of agricultural land.
