LPA to Bring Rains Over Southern Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao Until Friday

The low-pressure area (LPA) off Palawan is forecast to continue bringing rains over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao until Friday, September 18, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa). In its weather advisory issued at 4 p.m. on September 17, Pagasa stated that cloudy skies with scattered rains are expected nationwide. Areas closer to the LPA's center and those affected by surrounding thunderstorms may experience localized heavy rains and thunderstorms. This weather condition could potentially impact the Philippines' agriculture and fisheries sectors, requiring attention to crop growth, harvest, and fishing vessel operations. Authorities are also urging vigilance due to increased risks of flooding in low-lying areas and landslides.
