Ho Chi Minh City to Evaluate Teachers Using KPIs from Q3 2026

Ho Chi Minh City is set to implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for evaluating teachers and administrators, with the new system slated to begin in the third quarter of 2026. The outcomes of these KPI-based evaluations will serve as the foundation for determining additional income for educators and management staff. This new evaluation framework is expected to quantify teacher performance, aiming for a more equitable and transparent remuneration system. In Vietnam, alongside economic growth, investment in the education sector has been increasing, making the improvement of educational quality and the maintenance of teacher motivation key priorities. The Vietnamese government, under its one-party system, has prioritized economic development since transitioning to a socialist-oriented market economy and has been focusing on social infrastructure development, including education. However, specific discussions regarding the impact of KPI introduction on frontline teachers have not yet commenced.
